The Kongra Star Council issued a written statement on the 36th anniversary of the Halabja massacre, stating: “The Halabja massacre is against human rights. It is a violation of the identity and rights of a people whose number exceeds 50 million people. The napalm used by the dominant and ruling powers that aims to exterminate the Kurds.

The statement condemned the policies of the Iraqi regime and the Turkish occupation state and continued by saying: "The policies of the occupying countries against the Kurds are being implemented with the support of international plans. They seek to undermine the existence and identity of the Kurds."

The statement denounced the silence of international powers regarding the massacres committed against the Kurds and considered them a contribution to these massacres.

The statement continued by saying: “The nation, religion, culture and identity in Kurdistan were divided under the sight of the whole world, and now Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi are subject to occupation, and are witnessing violations and practices against humanity .

We remember the martyrs of the Halabja massacre once again, and we pledge to struggle against tyrannical and criminal enemies.”
