Residents from Kobani and its surrounding villages gathered at the Martyr Dijla Cemetery to attend the funeral of the SDF fighter, who was from the town of Sarrin and died on Tuesday after battling illness.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honour of the fallen fighters, followed by a speech by Sara Khalil, co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council in Kobani. She said that Naqib was among the fighters who never hesitated to defend their people and protect their land, adding that he was one of the first fighters to serve on the front lines.

She added that Naqib left behind his children and family to defend his homeland and continued his struggle until he died following a prolonged illness.

Speaking on behalf of the SDF, Fayyad Shahin, an administrator at the military academies, paid tribute to all fighters who sacrificed their lives so that people could live in security and dignity. He praised Naqib's dedication and sacrifices, noting that he had taken part in numerous military campaigns and served as an example of commitment.

Shahin added that Naqib never hesitated to undergo ideological and military training and remained steadfast in his convictions until his final moments. He stressed the importance of following his path, remaining faithful to his legacy, and continuing the struggle for the goals for which he fought and died.

The ceremony concluded with the reading of Naqib's martyr certificate, which was handed to his family before he was laid to rest amid ululations and chants of, "Martyrs are immortal" and "With our souls and blood, we sacrifice for you, O martyr."
