In a statement during her participation in a ceremony attended by 30 fighters from the Guerrilla Forces, Bese Hozat told Numedya24: "We made this decision at a critical historical moment. This is a clear political step, and we want to see its results in the near future."

Hozat added that this move is a response to the call for peace and a democratic society initiated by leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27, and it comes as part of a clear political decision without hesitation.

We came here with strong resolve

Hozat continued: "We came here with clear resolve. We know exactly why we are here. This is a pivotal political moment." She noted that this step aligns with leader Ocalan’s call for a comprehensive political solution, stating: "There was no hesitation at the leadership level in making this decision."

We took this step to achieve political solution

Hozat emphasized that the decision to burn weapons demonstrates a serious intent to resolve issues, saying: "This is a step expressing good intentions, and it must not go unanswered."

She added that the movement is not only seeking to address issues through force but aims to be part of a political solution in Amed, Ankara, and Istanbul.  She clarified that the democratic political path is the only way to achieve peace in the region.

Weapons are no longer obstacle

Speaking about the weapons that were burned, Hozat said: "Weapons were an obstacle, but we are now in the process of overcoming this barrier. We want to face these challenges with seriousness and full awareness." She stressed that the peace process must continue and not be limited to unilateral actions.

We have shown our sacrifices, now we await next steps

Hozat pointed out that they have made significant sacrifices to achieve this process, adding: "Now, we are waiting for the next steps from the other parties. We are ready to continue this process consistently."
