Karayilan confirms end of Turkey's military dominance: Kurds master politics, technology and diplomacy

The member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) stated that the era of Turkey's military dominance is over. Kurds have mastered technology, politics, and diplomacy, ensuring that the experiences of Afrin, Serê Kaniyê and Girê Spî will not be repeated. He emphasized that no force in Syria can defeat the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), describing the Autonomous Administration regions as the most secure and stable areas in the country, which irritates Turkey.

Murad Karayilan, member of the PKK Executive Committee, shared his assessment of the situation in North and East Syria, the Turkish occupation's attacks, and the plans targeting the region in an interview with the Firat News Agency.

A revolutionary situation in Rojava… A democratic model that bothers Turkish occupation

Karayilan described the current situation in Rojava as revolutionary, gaining recognition in global public opinion. He highlighted Turkish occupation's special warfare tactics against Rojava and its claims of fighting the PKK.

"The PKK fought there, sacrificing nearly 2,000 martyrs, with many injured fighters. The PKK later withdrew, leaving behind only a few injured members. This does not mean the PKK is present there," he clarified, adding that Turkish occupation uses these claims as a pretext for its attacks.

He noted that in North and East Syria, Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Armenians, and others have built a shared army, administration, and democratic system founded on women’s freedom and environmental protection. Turkey, deeply disturbed by this, openly declares its intention to destroy this system.

"No one can destroy this system," Karayilan asserted, emphasizing that leaders in NE Syria have learned from past experiences. He added, "A repeat scenario like Afrin, Serê Kaniyê, and Girê Spî is unlikely."

Discussing developments in Shahba and Tal Rifaat, Karayilan stated, "The military forces in Tal Rifaat and Shahba decided to withdraw voluntarily after one day of fighting. In Manbij, the withdrawal of the Manbij Military Council was influenced by international powers' policies west of the Euphrates. Reports suggest some agreements were made, but Turkey and its mercenaries fail to implement them."

Exposing false claims

Karayilan pointed out the special warfare tactics employed by the Turkish occupation state and its media, as well as their claims of achieving victory. He stated, "The mercenaries there and the Turkish press tried to fabricate a military victory, claiming 'we won.' However, it became clear that this was not the case. The so-called Syrian National Army is merely a structure driven by looting, theft, and seizing people's properties wherever they go. It is inconceivable that they could defeat the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)."

The SDF… High combat expertise and proven strength

Karayilan highlighted the high level of combat skills possessed by the SDF, noting that these forces have proven their strength and capabilities during intense battles against ISIS mercenaries. He stated, "Currently, no force in Syria is capable of defeating the SDF. Past conflicts between them have clearly demonstrated this reality."

He further explained that the clashes last month in Qereqozaqê, Tishrin Dam, and Deir Hafir also revealed this truth. Turkish-backed mercenaries repeatedly attempted to seize the area surrounding Suleiman Shah’s tomb. They also launched multiple attacks to capture Tishrin Dam but were unable to achieve any success.

Failed plans

Karayilan revealed that the Turkish occupation state recruits mercenaries from well-known Salafi jihadist organizations in Chechnya, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkestan, deploying them in its attacks.

He emphasized that the Turkish occupation also fights using its technology, employing armored vehicles and drones. He stated, "They are the ones who coordinated, executed, and planned, but they failed. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) still control the region, even pushing the attackers back. How many reports have been published during this period claiming that these areas are no longer under SDF control and are now occupied by the Syrian National Army? Countless fabricated news stories have been spread. They tried to alter people's perceptions and expectations."

Turkey's occupation strategy failed in Qereqozaqê and Tishrin

Murad Karayilan explained that the November 27 plan of the previous year aimed for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to take control of Aleppo and advance toward Hama. Meanwhile, Turkish-backed Syrian National Army mercenaries were supposed to move toward Tal Rifaat, Manbij, then Kobani, Tabqa, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Qamishlo. The goal was to dismantle the Democratic Autonomous Administration areas in North and East Syria. He stated, "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham advanced as far as Damascus, but the Syrian National Army got stuck in Qereqozaqê and Tishrin."

He noted that the Turkish occupation state intended to eliminate the Autonomous Administration through the Syrian National Army mercenaries. However, the plan ultimately failed in Qereqozaqê and Tishrin. He added, "Now, they are concealing this from the public in one way or another. Simply put, the Turkish occupation's project in that region did not take off, as the forces of North and East Syria successfully defended themselves."

Autonomous Administration areas: The safest and most stable in Syria

Karayilan also addressed the lies propagated by the Turkish media, including false reports claiming that Arab tribes had risen up and taken control of certain cities in North and East Syria. He stated, "Currently, the most peaceful and secure areas of Autonomous Administration in NE Syria."

No new withdrawal... The attack on Kobani faces long-term challenges for the occupation

Karayilan believes that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which withdrew from Manbij and Tal Rifaat, will not withdraw from any other areas. He emphasized that the Syrian National Army mercenaries are not on the same level as the SDF and cannot do anything. He added, "Let’s assume that the Turkish army itself intervenes, but the attack on Kobani will last at least three years."

Guerrilla resistance... Developing warfare methods and advanced defense techniques

Karayilan discussed the guerrilla forces resistance against Turkish occupation attacks and said, "Look, the war has been ongoing for 3 years in the 300-meter tunnels in Zap. We should understand this: the Kurds have now developed their own method of warfare. They have reached the ability to develop both underground warfare and air defense. Therefore, the Turkish threats that say 'We will strike with an iron fist and take it' are meaningless. Your iron fist will shatter there."

The end of the era of military dominance... The Kurds master politics, technology, and diplomacy

In conclusion to his assessments of the situation in NE Syria, Murat Karayilan pointed out that the Kurds have also gained an understanding of technology and are developing it. He emphasized that the Kurds now comprehend politics and diplomacy, and there are also those who understand the art of military service. Therefore, the era of the phrase "We will strike and destroy everywhere" has come to an end.
