The Jordanian Armed Forces announced that the Eastern Military Zone thwarted two attempts today, Wednesday, to smuggle large quantities of narcotics, which were loaded onto guided balloons using primitive devices.

According to the Jordan News Agency, the balloons were spotted in two separate locations along the eastern front of its border area, where they were dealt with and shot down within Jordanian territory in coordination between the Border Guard forces, security agencies, and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The Jordanian Armed Forces announced at the end of last November that the Southern Military Region thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics via a drone on the western front within its area of responsibility.
