The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it had carried out an airstrike on targets in southern Syria last night and seized a quantity of weapons during ground operations in the Hadar area in the Quneitra countryside, near the ceasefire line in the Golan Heights.

An army statement explained that forces from the 226th Brigade, part of the 210th Division, carried out simultaneous raids on four sites in the Hadar area, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of weapons and the detention of a number of individuals suspected of involvement in arms smuggling operations, according to Reuters.

The statement added that units from the 210th Division remain deployed in the area and continue to carry out operations aimed, according to the statement, at preventing the entrenchment of "terrorist" elements on Syrian territory.

In a related development, Israeli engineering forces continue excavation work and fortifications west of the towns of Brega and Bir Ajam, as part of the "Sufa 53" project launched by the Israeli military in November 2022 to strengthen the defensive infrastructure along the border with the Golan Heights.
