Israeli incursion into Quneitra Countryside near UNDOF position

An Israeli patrol entered the Quneitra countryside and took up position near a UNDOF post, setting up a temporary checkpoint to inspect passersby, amid continued Israeli military activity in the border area.

An Israeli patrol consisting of three military vehicles entered Syrian territory in the Quneitra countryside today and took up position near a post belonging to the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Israeli forces set up a temporary checkpoint in the area, where they searched cars and vehicles and checked identification documents before later withdrawing.

The incursion comes amid continued Israeli military activity in areas of the Quneitra countryside, including the establishment of temporary checkpoints and positions, as well as inspection operations.

The SOHR had reported yesterday evening that an Israeli patrol had entered the village of Taranja in the northern Quneitra countryside, where it searched a house before leaving the area.
