Israel targets the Damascus countryside for the second time today
After Israel targeted the area between Moadamiyat al-Qalamoun and al-Qataifa in the Damascus countryside at dawn today, it targeted the vicinity of Sayyida Zeinab this afternoon.
Al-Watan newspaper, which is close to the Damascus government, reported that a strong sound was heard in Damascus and smoke appeared in the sky at a low altitude, while the local Sham FM radio indicated that there were reports of an aggression targeting the Bahdalia area in Sayyida Zeinab in the Damascus countryside, with no information received about any casualties until the moment.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that explosions sounded in the Damascus countryside at dawn today, as a result of new Israeli air strikes within Syrian territory.
SOHR indicated that the targeting “was at sites and warehouses belonging to Iranian-backed groups, in an area located between Moadamiyat al-Qalamoun and Qatayfa in the Damascus countryside,” while the air defenses of the Damascus forces attempted to confront the raids, and the sounds of violent explosions were heard after the air strikes.
The Observatory confirmed that there were deaths as a result of the Israeli targeting, noting that the area includes many military headquarters and weapons depots belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah.
