ISF affirm to protect stability, pursue those threaten region's security

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces of Jazira canton explained that while its forces in the canton were carrying out their duty of securing the entry of the security forces affiliated with the Interim Government into the city of Hasaka, the convoy was subjected to a direct attack by terrorist cells, and the forces dealt firmly with those cells.

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces – Jazira canton issued a statement to the public opinion, clarifying an attempt by some cells to destabilize security and stability in the city of Hasaka on Monday.

The Internal Security Forces' statement included, "While our forces, the Internal Security Forces of Jazira canton, were carrying out their duty of securing the entry of the Internal Security Forces of the Syrian government into the city of Hasaka, as part of the implementation of the agreement concluded between Damascus and the Syrian Democratic Forces, the convoy was subjected to direct fire from terrorist cells, in an attempt to destabilize security and stability and incite chaos in the region."

The statement explained, "As a result, our forces moved immediately and responsibly to ensure the safety of the convoy and protect civilians in the surrounding area. The source of the fire was dealt with, and the terrorist cells involved in the attack were pursued. These operations resulted in the arrest of a number of members of these cells, and investigations are still ongoing."

The Internal Security Forces noted that, as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential threat to civilians, they imposed a temporary curfew in the area to thwart the movements of terrorist cells and prevent them from exploiting the situation to destabilize security. These measures were implemented with precision and a high degree of responsibility, contributing to the successful completion of the mission without any civilian casualties or injuries.

The forces indicated that, as a result of attacks and movements by these cells, one of their fighters was wounded while performing his duty to protect security and stability and is receiving the necessary treatment.

The Internal Security Forces in Jazira canton affirmed their continued commitment to carrying out their duties with firmness and responsibility, and their determination to pursue all those who attempt to undermine the security of the region and the safety of its people. They also emphasized their commitment to the signed agreements and to protecting stability and public security.
