Iraqi journalists, activists demand Turkish ambassador expulsion

Yesterday, Wednesday, Iraqi journalists and activists launched the hashtag (#Expel_Turkish_Ambassador_from_Bagadad) on social media platforms.

The call to expel the ambassador came in response to the Turkish occupation army's attacks on areas in S. Kurdistan, which have escalated over the past two weeks, with the army beginning to occupy villages in the Dohuk countryside, turning them into military bases, and setting up military checkpoints.

The hashtag, which began circulating on social media, was initiated by "journalist Mohamed Al-Jubouri, journalist Marwan Habib, journalist Salam Al-Zubaidi, human rights activist Noor Al-Badr, journalist Mohamed Ali, and activist Abbas Ali."

Those sharing the hashtag #Expel_Turkish_Ambassador_from_Baghdad, attached their posts with phrases and pictures calling for the expulsion of the Turkish ambassador from Baghdad.

On June 30, another hashtag launched by Iraqi activists, "#Turkey_Occupies_Dohuk," trended.

The Turkish occupation state continues its attacks on the Medya defense areas and other areas in S. Kurdistan, with the participation of the Democratic Party forces, amid a lack of action from the Iraqi federal government. Since July 3, the Turkish army has started bringing in additional massive military and logistical forces and equipment into the Dohuk countryside, occupying several villages and turning them into Turkish military barracks and points.

The attacks on villages and citizens' farms have led to significant material losses and the displacement of residents.
