Interior Ministry of Interim Government announces identity of perpetrators behind Damascus attack

The Ministry of Interior of the Interim Government announced that investigations with members of a recently arrested cell confirmed their responsibility for the bombing that targeted the Ministry of Defense’s Armament Directorate building in Damascus last May.

The Ministry of Interior of the Interim Government issued a statement today confirming that ongoing investigations into the recently arrested cell—combined with the analysis of technical evidence and the cross-referencing of security data—have established the cell's responsibility for the bombing that targeted the Interim Government’s Ministry of Defense Armament Department building in Damascus last May.

The Ministry added that investigations are continuing to identify all individuals involved with or collaborating with the cell, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures against them.

The bombing, which took place on May 19 near a Ministry of Defense facility in the Bab Sharqi district of Damascus, resulted in the death of a ministry member and injuries of 23 people.
