Infiltration attempt foiled in al-Majdal, National Guard fighter killed in Sweida

National Guard forces in Sweida thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Interim Government’s forces in the town of al-Majdal and announced the death of one of their fighters.

In a statement published on its official website, the National Guard Command in Sweida confirmed that the Interim Government carried out a series of violations northwest of Sweida city.

The statement explained that, since the early morning hours, Interim Government forces have conducted multiple field violations, including mortar shelling and heavy machine-gun fire (23 mm caliber) from the direction of al-Mansoura toward the city’s northwestern axis, in addition to the use of sniper weapons. These attacks resulted in the killing of one National Guard fighter.

The statement added that an enemy group simultaneously attempted to infiltrate one of the military points in al-Majdal, advancing from the territory of al-Mazra’a, following several attacks carried out using drones.

It further noted that National Guard forces successfully foiled the attempt in full, disabled a vehicle belonging to the attacking group, and stabilized the situation across all axes.
