A number of people forcibly displaced from the cities of Sere Kaniye and Afrin, who are staying at the shelter centers in Martyr Kazem Hussein School in the city of Garkê  Lagê, expressed their worsening humanitarian suffering as a result of repeated displacement, amid harsh living and health conditions. They demanded guarantees for their safe and dignified return to their homes.

The displaced woman Norshan Habsho, who has been displaced three times from Sere Kaniye, said they are living through extremely harsh days, especially during the winter season. She stressed that displacement has left a deep impact on their lives and extended her thanks to the people of Garkê Lagê for their support, saying: “We thank the people of Karaky Lagê for their moral and material support. We hope to return to our homes with dignity, especially for the sake of our children.”

For his part, Ahmad Aziz explained that the health and physical conditions of the displaced are deteriorating, particularly after the recent attacks. He called on international bodies to intervene seriously and to implement the January 30 agreement in a way that guarantees safe return, demanding “the implementation of the latest agreement in a manner that ensures our safe return to our homes.”

Meanwhile, Samira Khalil, who has been displaced four times from Afrin, noted that they were forced to leave behind their properties and homes, which are now under the control of armed factions.

She affirmed that the assistance provided does not meet their needs amid the difficult living conditions, adding: “We appeal to humanitarian organizations to support us.”

Mahmoud Habsho also emphasized that the displaced are living in tragic conditions and demanded a dignified return to their homes after long years of displacement and forced migration.
