Hundreds from Jazera cities head to Tishrin Dam to join protests

Since January 8, residents of the North and East Syria region have been organizing a public protest at Tishrin Dam to denounce Turkish occupation attacks on the region, particularly on Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê Bridge, and to support the resistance of the SDF and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in repelling these attacks.

In this context, today, hundreds of residents from Hasaka, Tal Tamr, Darbasiyah, and Tal Brak set out toward Tishrin Dam to join the protest.

In Tal Tamr, dozens of city residents gathered in front of the Council of Martyrs’ Families headquarters before heading out. Similarly, in Darbasiyah, dozens gathered in front of the Center for Culture and Art, while in Tal Brak, dozens gathered in front of the Internal Security Forces center before setting out.

The residents of these cities converged at Panorama Roundabout in Hasaka, the designated gathering point, where they were joined by hundreds of Hasaka residents.

Amid chants praising the resistance of the SDF and YPJ, the convoy of vehicles then set off toward Tishrin Dam to participate in the protest.

Since December 8, 2024, the Turkish occupation has been carrying out attacks on Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê Bridge, while the SDF and YPJ continue to resist these assaults.
