HPG: Turkish Army conducts attacks in Çewlîk, Amed, Herekol, Bestayê

In a statement released by the HPG, the HPG revealed that Turkey had launched extensive military operations across several areas in Northern Kurdistan during that period. 

The statement read:

“On the anniversary of the martyrdom of the commanders of the Immortals Battalion — our comrade Asya Ali (Mîne Sevjîn Alçîçek) and Rojger Helin (Ali Orek), who carried out a self-sacrificial operation in TUSAŞ, Ankara, on October 23, 2024 — and our immortal commander, comrade Beritan Hevi (Gulnaz Karataş), who became a symbol of defiance and resistance against betrayal through her stance and her act on October 25, 1992, we remember all our martyrs with respect and gratitude. We renew our pledge to honor their sacred memory by continuing our struggle in the spirit of Apoist sacrifice, without hesitation, until we achieve their goals and prove ourselves worthy of their legacy.

The Turkish occupation army carried out large-scale attacks and operations against our forces in Northern Kurdistan:

– On October 14–15, the Turkish occupation forces conducted an operation in the area located at the junction of Çewlik and the districts of Lice and Pasûr in Amede.

– On October 14–15, Turkish occupation forces launched large-scale operations in the Herekol area of Botan.

– On October 19, Turkish occupation forces carried out an operation in the Basta area of Botan.

During these operations our forces were observing a ceasefire, and although we do not want clashes to occur, the political and military will that directs these forces to carry out the operation will be held responsible for the consequences.”
