US envoy Amos Hochstein considered that the developments in Syria constitute a new weak point for Hezbollah in Lebanon because it is difficult for Iran, which appears to have begun to withdraw, to bring in and smuggle weapons to it.

However, he added in a speech he delivered today during the Doha Forum that he "does not believe that Hezbollah has been eliminated or defeated."

In his words, "The party, which has suffered heavy losses in recent months, is no longer strong enough to attack Israel or support Assad."

In addition, he saw that "the collapse of the Syrian army in front of the armed factions was not a big surprise, but the previous time two superpowers rushed to help it," according to him, referring to Iran and Russia, which support Damascus in the crisis.
