Health Body slams Turkish attacks on ambulances

 The Body strongly condemned the targeting of ambulance on Wednesday 11/12/2024, by a drone belonging to the Turkish occupation mercenaries, while it was carrying out a humanitarian mission to transport a wounded person to the hospital, stressing that this targeting resulted in the martyrdom of the ambulance driver and the wounded person, in addition to seriously injuring a paramedic, noting that this crime represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian laws, most notably the Geneva Conventions that guarantee the protection of medical facilities and health personnel, and constitutes a war crime aimed at deepening humanitarian disasters and increasing the suffering of civilians of the region.

 It called on international powers and human rights and humanitarian organizations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, and take urgent measures to stop these crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable.

 The Body concluded its statement by stressing that protecting lives and humanitarian services must be a priority, calling on all concerned parties to stand firmly against these crimes.
