General mobilization, popular resistance continue in Hasakah, Tal Tamr, Darbasiyah

Since January 6, factions of the interim government, backed by the Turkish occupying state, have launched attacks on areas of the Autonomous Democratic Administration. Despite repeated announcements of ceasefires, these factions have failed to adhere to them, continuing their assaults on cities and towns in the Jazira Canton and Kobani, further escalating tension and alert across the region.

In response, the Syrian Democratic Forces called for resistance, while the Autonomous Administration announced a general mobilization. This was met with a wide response from residents of the Jazira and Euphrates cantons, as civilians took to the streets and public squares starting the night before last, expressing their readiness to defend their cities and protect their areas from any potential threat, in scenes reflecting broad popular mobilization and unity around the choice of resistance.

In the city of Hasakah, the state of security alert remains ongoing, with security forces and Internal Security Forces deployed alongside civilians across various neighborhoods to maintain security and stability. Meanwhile, fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) continue to carry out their duties on the frontlines. In parallel, bakeries continue to provide services to residents, while medical teams remain on full alert in anticipation of any emergency.

In the cities of Tal Tamr and Darbasiyah, residents continue to participate in the general mobilization, protecting their neighborhoods by conducting foot patrols in streets and residential areas. Both cities are witnessing relative civilian movement during daytime hours to meet daily needs, particularly bread, under security alert to safeguard neighborhoods. With nightfall, the alert level escalates to full alert, as popular patrols intensify to protect streets and neighborhoods and prevent any security breaches.

This scene reflects a state of popular uprising and cohesion between civilians and their forces, reaffirming that popular resistance and general mobilization have become the first line of defense in confronting the threats targeting the security and stability of the region.
