The Syrian Women's Council organized the first meeting of its general council, which included an assessment of the political and organizational situation, and the development of a future work plan for the council.

The Syrian Women's Council held the first meeting of its general council in Raqqa Province in the North and East Syria, today, in the presence of representatives of political parties and members of women's organizations and movements in the region.

The meeting, which was held in the building of the Syrian Women’s Council in the city of Raqqa, began with a minute of silence, followed by a reading of the political situation in the North and East Syria and Syria in general, in light of the changes coming to the region, by the member of the Syrian Women’s Council’s coordination, Rehab Ibrahim.

For her part, the head of the Women’s Office in the Syrian Democratic Council, Jihan Khadro, spoke about the agendas of the parties benefiting from the Syrian crisis, and said: “There are countries with interests that aspire to annex Syrian lands at the expense of the blood of the Syrian people.

As for Media Office Director of the Syrian Women’s Council, Media Medawar, she spoke about the rapprochement efforts between Ankara and Damascus, its negative consequences for the Syrian people and the ambitions of the Turkish occupation state in Syrian territories.

Meanwhile, the meeting continued to develop a future work plan for the Syrian Women’s Council and communicate with all women, inside and outside Syria, within the Council’s strategy, in addition to discussing holding a meeting with all political parties and women’s organizations in the North and East Syria and Syria during the second half of the current year.

The meeting continued its work, closed to the media, to read the bylaws after they were approved during the second conference of the Council, which was held on May 20 last.
