Fleeing Lebanon and heading to NE, Syria as a safe haven

ANHA agency's correspondent met, at the Tabqa crossing, a number of those who fled from various Lebanese regions and arrived as returnees and arrivals to North and East Syria as a result of the ongoing military escalation in Lebanon.

Many of them prefer, after arriving in Syria through the border crossings, to head to the regions of North and East Syria to seek refuge there, given the extent of security and stability that the region enjoys, especially with the representation of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Lebanon helping those wishing to return to their regions in the region.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria had also announced a few days ago the formation of a Crisis Cell to take the necessary measures and facilitate the affairs of Syrians wishing to return and pass through its regions.

In this regard, Mahmoud al-Ahmad, whose origin from Raqqa, said, "We had to stay for days under the trees, because of the successive missiles that fell on cities and neighborhoods."

Al-Ahmad, who had been living in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley for about 8 years, expressed his gratitude to the Autonomous Administration for the facilities provided to them, and added, "Despite the severe crowding at the Tabqa crossing, we did not wait long, the entry procedures were smooth and fast."

Lina Mohammad (Lebanese) also spoke about the displacement journey that she and her family undertook personally: "My family and I were living in Beirut, with the first attacks on the suburb, we decided to flee out of fear of the situation and fear for our lives, and we immediately headed to the Syrian-Lebanese border, we waited 3 days to reach the Syrian-Lebanese border, and it took 25 hours to cross from Lebanon to Syria, upon our first arrival at the garages, we headed directly to the areas of North and East Syria."

Lina Mohammed said: "Our family originates from the city of Tabqa, and since this area is located within the areas of the administration, which is one of the safest and most stable areas in Syria, we decided to come there."

She also expressed her gratitude, like her predecessor, to the institutions of the Autonomous Administration for the facilities provided to them at the Tabqa crossing, and their assistance in securing their livelihoods.

ANHA's correspondent at the crossing met with the citizen Ahmed Ismail, whose origin from the city of Aleppo, who also spoke about his suffering, saying: "I used to live in the suburb of Beirut, and we were terrified by the successive fall of bombs and missiles, so we decided to flee and get out of there."

Ahmed Ismail added: "We immediately chose to head to the areas of North and East Syria, because we see them as one of the safest and most stable areas in Syria."

He continued by saying: "We thank the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the efforts they provide to facilitate people's affairs and to reach their areas safely without any obstacles or problems."
