Unknown gunmen targeted a family today in Hama, resulting in the deaths of three young men: brothers Hassan Aloush and Haidar Aloush, along with their relative Sabri Alawi. Additionally, the brothers’ brother and his wife sustained varying degrees of injuries, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Observatory reported that the mother of the victims belongs to the Shia sect and is from the Alawi family of the town of al-Foua, while their father is originally from Idlib. The family previously resided in al-Foua before being displaced to Latakia and later relocated to a shelter in Hama city.

The victims were shot directly near Taher Al-Shaar School. Following the incident, the neighborhood was gripped by tension and fear amid ongoing security chaos in areas controlled by the transitional government, raising concerns over the recurrence of such attacks.

Since the beginning of 2025, the total number of victims of retaliatory and targeted killings across various Syrian provinces has reached 1,003, including 32 women and 21 children.
