First batch of Prisoners freed in Ghweran Prison after amnesty

The Social Justice Body in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAA) released the first batch of prisoners from the Ghweran Central Prison in Hasaka following a general amnesty.

On July 17, the DAA granted clemency for prisoners who didn't commit crimes, following the tripartite meeting of  the Syrian Democratic Forces( SDF), the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), and the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA).

Based on the amnesty decision, the Social Justice Body of the DAA released the first batch of convicts from the Ghweran Central Prison in the city of Hasaka.

Dozens of families gathered in front of the central prison to receive their released Sons, in addition to the presence of a number of notables of the region.

The Co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Mahmoud Al-Musalat, also attended the procedures, who announced the start of the release process, wishing those who were released to be part of society.

Other prisoners scheduled to be released in batches after the Social Justice Body and the prison administration complete the necessary procedures.
