Family celebrates their daughter’s joining of YPJ
Fidan Aslan Khalil, young woman from the village of Khirabi Shara in occupied Afrin, who was forcibly displaced to Aleppo, has joined the ranks of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). Her family celebrated this significant occasion.

From Aleppo to Afrin, Manbij to Dêrik, and Serê Kaniyê to Girê Sipî, young men and women, who face the Turkish occupation’s assaults, are joining the resistance to prevent massacres against themselves and the people of the region. Some families send their sons and daughters to join the struggle for freedom.
Fidan Aslan Khalil, who witnessed the resistance in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and the "Resistance of the Age'' in Afrin, was displaced from her village of Khirabi Shara in occupied Afrin to the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo due to Turkish occupation attacks.
To mark her joining the resistance, Fidan’s family held a small celebration. Her father, Aslan Mohammed Khalil, spoke to ANHA, expressing their support for their only daughter’s decision to join the Women's Protection Units.
Fidan Aslan Khalil left her home in Aleppo, bid farewell to her parents, family, and relatives, and joined the ranks of the Women’s Protection Units.
