A number of families of detainees held by Israeli forces gathered outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN headquarters in Damascus, calling for information about the fate of their sons, the conditions of their detention, and the release of their relatives held in Israeli prisons. They also called for an end to ongoing violations against residents of Daraa and Quneitra governorates.

The protest comes amid escalating Israeli incursions into parts of southern Syria, where Israeli forces have conducted raids, searched residents’ homes, and detained young men in villages and towns across Daraa and Quneitra.

The area has also witnessed repeated Israeli shelling targeting sites, villages, and towns in southern Syria, alongside military movements and ground incursions, further exacerbating tensions and raising residents’ concerns that the scope of the operations could expand.

The families said the arrests and raids had affected residents of the area, calling on the United Nations and international bodies to pressure Israel to halt these practices, disclose the fate of the detainees, and work toward their release.

On April 26, dozens of relatives of Syrians detained by Israel also held a protest outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an attempt to draw attention to the issue of their sons.
