Families of prisoners in the city of Qamishlo organized a protest march today calling for the release of their sons, who have been detained by the Syrian Interim Government since January last year. They met at Martyrs' Square in Qamishlo, bearing pictures of their sons, to march to the Sony roundabout at the heart of the city.

After reaching the roundabout, the demonstrators staged a sit-in, shouting slogans demanding release of prisoners: "We want our sons... We want our fighters." The demonstrators asserted that they will not give up on their demands for the release of their sons.

They demanded the need for the response to the demands of the families and for working on ending the suffering of the prisoners and their families.
