Euphrates residents respond to mobilization, head to Aleppo

After the councils of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah in Aleppo announced in a statement that attacks by the Interim Government’s mercenaries, supported by Turkey, threaten to commit mass massacres, they declared a general mobilization. The people of NE Syria responded and gathered in public squares.

In the Euphrates Canton, Tabqa, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Jazira, residents began preparations to head toward Aleppo. After getting ready, the first popular convoys from the Euphrates Canton set off for Aleppo.

In Kobani, hundreds gathered in Martyr Akid Square to express solidarity with the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah, affirming their support.

The event was attended by residents, administrators, and members of institutions and bodies of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates Canton. Participants chanted slogans such as:

"Long live the resistance of Sheikh Maqsoud”

A banner was raised reading: "With the spirit of Kobani and Thawra Dam resistance, we will resist in Sheikh Maqsoud."

After the gathering ended, large crowds departed in a convoy of vehicles heading toward Aleppo.
