Egyptian researcher: Ocalan’s freedom can contribute to resolving region’s issues
Egyptian researcher Walaa Abu Steit indicated that the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan would contribute to resolving the issues of the region, including the Kurdish and Palestinian issues, and she denounced international and Western complicity and silence regarding the practices, isolation and arrest he is being subjected to.

Egyptian researcher Walaa Abu Steit believes that “the global campaign for Ocalan’s freedom was launched coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the international conspiracy to arrest the leader Abdullah Ocalan without any solution and without the success of any of the efforts undertaken, whether timid or even strong.”
She told ANHA’s agency: “What is happening in the Ocalan case reveals the West’s lies and the falsity of its claims to protect human rights and support freedoms.”
The Egyptian researcher considered that "the position of human rights and international organizations on what is happening to Ocalan confirms that these people are nothing but a bunch of liars and deceivers who are playing with all the cards for their own benefit and that they do not really care about standing on the side of just causes or supporting their supporters as they claim."
She pointed out that "the current campaign comes at a time not much different from the case of the conspiracy that took place against Ocalan 25 years ago. At that time, I wanted Ocalan to disappear from the scene completely, and there was this great fear of a man who was able, with his ideas and his movements, which no one was standing behind to support them or to fuel them." He revives a nation.”
She continued: "Yes, Ocalan revived this Kurdish nation and strengthened it. Despite all the attempts that preceded him, Ocalan is credited with being that leader who created popular armies whose supply on the battlefield is the idea. The idea that Ocalan walked among the people to plant, so it proposed vast orchards that spread among everyone, so the PKK was formed." The democratic nation, with its widespread thought, was sufficient to say among the Kurds, despite all attempts to falsify history and erase minds through the idea of cultural genocide, which did not work, due to what we see and feel now.”
According to the researcher, “After 25 years of the conspiracy against Ocalan, we are living and seeing another major conspiracy, the one taking place in occupied Palestine, especially Gaza, whose people are suffering from what can be said to be ethnic genocide as the world hears and sees it, and even with the implicit blessing of the same people.” "Those who carried out the plot against Ocalan 25 years ago."
Pointing out that "the West, whose bias and double standards policy was demonstrated by Ocalan's ordeal and his 25-year imprisonment, will now not sympathize with the global campaign for Ocalan's freedom or with the children of Gaza, as they only know how to shed blood as well as rights, despite all the flimsy claims of freedom, human rights, and other things."
The Egyptian researcher concluded her speech by saying, "Ocalan and his cause, and before it, the extended issue of Palestine, which they are now seeking to liquidate and end the Palestinian presence, is nothing but evidence that a major conspiracy is being hatched against us, the people of this region, with the support of the parties of the international conspiracy itself; in support of agents in the region with the aim of keeping this... The region is revolving in circles of disappointment and destruction, and therefore there is no solution except through the cohesion of its people.”
She continued: “It is important to gain more forms of popular support around the world, but the question remains... What next? Their media mouthpieces are more powerful and more influential, even though the truth is with others, and this is what will remain in my opinion until change comes from us... and there is no change in the crucial issues.” Except with the white hands of its owners... Nelson Mandela did it and Gandhi achieved it, and it can be achieved again on the level of the Kurdish issue and Ocalan’s freedom or on the level of the Palestinian issue... We are talking about two similar things despite all the differences.”
