Doctor from S Kurdistan: We came to offer assistance to our brothers

Dr. Raper Abbas, who arrived in Rojava with 18 doctors from Southern Kurdistan, emphasized the urgent need to bolster medical services in the region, given the current circumstances and escalating challenges. He noted that Rojava is part of Kurdistan and that their arrival stems from their humanitarian and patriotic duty to provide medical support and assistance to their brothers, and to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the residents and IDPs.

QAMISHLO

A medical delegation of 19 doctors from the cities of Sulaimaniyah and Erbil in S Kurdistan arrived in Rojava yesterday to provide medical assistance and services in light of the growing need for healthcare in the region.

Among the participating doctors was Dr. Raper Abbas, a specialist in maxillofacial surgery, who spoke to ANHA agency about their motivations for participating in this humanitarian initiative. He explained that their arrival from Southern Kurdistan came after following media reports highlighting the urgent need for medical and healthcare services.

Abbas added, "Rojava is part of Kurdistan, and whether it's Qamishlo or Sulaymaniyah, it's one Kurdistan. We came with various medical specialties, including surgery, and after making the necessary arrangements before our arrival, we began preparing to work in the surgical field here."

He noted that the medical delegation brought some basic medical equipment with them to enable them to provide necessary health services to the people and support their brothers in Rojava.
