Since January 13, the Turkish occupation state has been bombing, with its warplanes and drones, service facilities, electricity stations, oil and water stations, civilian homes, and points and checkpoints of the Internal Security Forces.

The bombing focused on the Oda station, located in the Tirbespiya district, and the Al-Swaydiya station, located in the town of Rimelan, both of which are affiliated with the city of Qamishlo, and which meet the needs of the entire Jazera Canton for electricity, gas, and fuel.

The scenes we captured of the targeted sites show the massive destruction caused by the bombing.

Oda station is 90 percent out of service

Oda station meets most of the needs of Jazera Canton for gas, diesel, and gasoline, and the Turkish occupation army launched dozens of raids on it from the 13 to the 15 of this month.

According to the information we obtained from the station's management, the attacks resulted in 90 percent of the station being out of service.

We monitored with our camera the damage caused to the third unit, which was one of the units affected by the bombing, as at 19:00 on the January 14, 3 oil refining units were bombed, which resulted in them being out of service.

It has been targeted for 3 years

Oda Oil Station has been targeted by the occupiers for 3 years. The Turkish occupation bombed it on November 20, 2022, October 4, 2023, and December 23, 2023, and the attacks at that time resulted in it being completely out of service.

The power station in Tirbespiye is one of the stations that were affected by the attacks. On the January 14, this station, which supplies electricity to the district and all its villages, was bombed, which resulted in it being completely out of service and the electricity being cut off from the district and its villages. However, it was bombed again in January 15.

Al-Swaydiya station

Among the sites that were also bombed was the Al-Suwaidiya station located in the town of Rimelan, which is the largest station in Jazera Canton and meets its needs for gas and electricity. The station consists of gas, diesel, gasoline and electricity units, and it is responsible for meeting all of Jazera's needs for gas, diesel, gasoline and electricity, and also supplies water stations in the cities of the Canton with electricity.

The gas unit at the station produces 13,000 gas cylinders per day, which are distributed to the people of Jazera Canton.

On the January 13, the station was bombed with more than 10 raids, which resulted in it being completely out of service.

The two gas units, diesel and gasoline, are the most affected units, as they were completely out of service.

It has been under attack for 3 years

Al-Swaidiya station has been bombed by the Turkish occupation several times since 2022. On November 23, 2022, it was bombed by Turkish warplanes, which resulted in it being out of service by 40 percent. It was re-bombed on October 6, resulting in it being 80 percent out of service.

Consequences of the attacks and their effects on Jazera's people

The attacks resulted in the people of Jazera Canton being deprived of meeting most of their vital needs. According to the Democratic Autonomous Administration, more than 2 and a half million people in 15 cities, districts, towns and hundreds of villages in Jazera Canton have become without electricity.

The water stations in cities and districts, which are operated by electricity, depend entirely on the Al-Swaidiya station, so the withdrawal of this station led to the stoppage of the water stations as well, and thus 2 and a half million people were experiencing a water crisis.

Gas, diesel, and gasoline are vital needs, especially in the winter, and people rely on diesel heaters as a primary means of heating, so they will face great difficulties in obtaining fuel and gas.
