Today, the Democratic Civil Administration in Raqqa issued a statement to public opinion, on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Raqqa from ISIS mercenaries, at the municipal stadium in the center of Raqqa.

Members of civil and military institutions, political parties, organizations and feminist movements in Raqqa and its countryside participated in reading the statement.

A public event was scheduled to be held on the occasion of the liberation of Raqqa from ISIS mercenaries on October 20, 2017, but the Democratic Civil Administration in Raqqa canceled the celebration in solidarity with the victims of the Gaza Hospital massacre.

The statement, which was read by the co-chair of the Raqqa Civil Council, Muhammad Nour Al-Dheeb, said: “The brutal crimes and genocidal war committed by the Turkish occupation state on the regions of NE Syria amount to war crimes.

The statement explained that the Turkish occupation state used all special methods and tools of war against the people, components and ethnic groups of NE Syria, the Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Syriacs and Turkmen, with the aim of undermining the project of the democratic nation, the culture of coexistence and brotherhood of peoples, and destabilizing security and stability.

The statement noted that the Turkish occupation state is blatantly interfering in the affairs of the region, disregarding all international laws and conventions to undermine the gains, achievements and experience of AANES.

The statement indicated that inaction of international powers regarding the Turkish attacks encouraged the Turkish brutal massacre.

The statement also drew attention to the Gaza Hospital massacre and stressed that targeting it was contrary to social and human values, and called for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

The statement  called on the international community and relevant humanitarian organizations to carry out their moral and humanitarian responsibilities and duties towards Gaza.
