Democratic Autonomous Administration form crisis cell for returnees from Lebanon

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region approved the formation of a special crisis cell for returnees from Lebanon, which includes all concerned sectors and institutions to facilitate their access to the region through the crossings.

This came in a statement made by the Autonomous Administration today, at the crossing between the regions of the NE Syria region and the areas controlled by the Damascus government forces in Tabqa, The statement was read by the Deputy Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Democratic AANES, Gulestan Ali.

The Autonomous Administration pointed to the increasing suffering of "our Syrian people who are in Lebanon, as a result of the rapid escalation in that region," and said in this regard: "Based on our sense of responsibility and the need for continuous work to alleviate the suffering of Syrians wishing to return to the NE Syria region, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria held an emergency meeting to discuss the current situation."

During the meeting, according to the statement, it was decided to "form a crisis cell that includes all relevant sectors and institutions to facilitate the access of Syrian refugees to the region through the crossings. Accordingly, the crisis cell for the affairs of those coming from Lebanon decided as follows:

First: The Democratic AANES affirms its full readiness to receive Syrian refugees wishing to enter the region.

Second: The crisis cell will receive all Syrian refugees at the crossings, where their personal data will be recorded and their identity verified.

Third: After writing down their documents, the people of NE Syria will be able to go to their families and relatives in the region, while for people who do not have relatives in the area, the Autonomous Administration will allocate their own shelters inside the region.

Fourth: The reception and transfer of refugees will be supervised by the crisis cell, to ensure that the process proceeds smoothly and efficiently.

During the statement, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria called on the international community and all international organizations concerned with refugee affairs to extend a "helping hand to us" so that we can provide them with all necessary assistance.

It renewed the demand "to open the Tal Kochar (al-Yarubiya) crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to the NE Syria region and distribute it to refugees."

The Autonomous Administration had announced earlier on Tuesday (September 24), its readiness to receive Syrians returning from Lebanon who are residents of the region, and called through a statement from the Damascus government to facilitate their passage and take into account their suffering.

On the same day, the Representation of the Autonomous Administration in Lebanon announced the formation of a committee to follow up on the affairs of Syrian refugees, whose function is to provide a helping hand and assistance to refugees from the NE Syria, as well as the formation of committees in Lebanon to coordinate the affairs of refugees returning to NE Syria as well.
