Factions of the interim government continue to launch violent attacks using heavy weapons, artillery, tanks, and rockets on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid, which are home to more than 600,000 civilians, in a new violation of the declared ceasefire and the April 1st agreement.

The indiscriminate shelling is affecting most of the three neighborhoods, especially the areas of "Al-Jazeera Laundry - Ammar Chicken - Al-Hassan Mosque - Sheikh Maqsoud Grand Mosque - Furniture Street in Ashrafieh - Street 15 - Street 20 - Martyrs' Square - Al-Shaqif - Youth Housing - and Maarouf neighborhood," causing significant damage to civilian homes as a result of direct shelling. The Internal Security Forces in Aleppo responded, exercising their right to self-defense and legitimate defense of civilians in the two neighborhoods, and repelled all attacks, thwarting five infiltration attempts into the area. This resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the ranks of the interim government factions.

It is worth noting that the clashes and heavy shelling resumed in the three neighborhoods after a brief pause, following the arrival of military reinforcements for the interim government factions, including tanks and heavy armored vehicles, which puts the lives of civilians at great risk.
