Damascus forces bomb "De-escalation" zone

Damascus government forces bombed the vicinity of several areas within the Idlib and Aleppo countryside, while a Turkish occupation mercenary was killed by artillery shelling on an area in the Latakia countryside.

In the early morning hours, the so-called “De-escalation” area witnessed intense artillery shelling by Damascus government forces, targeting the vicinity of the town of Al-Fatira in Jabal Al-Zawiya in the Idlib countryside, and the village of Kafr Amma in the western countryside of Aleppo, no information about casualties.

In a related context, a mercenary for Tahrir al-Sham was killed during the past hours, in an artillery bombardment carried out by Damascus government forces on the Al-Kabina axis in the northern countryside of Latakia.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the number of those killed by ground attacks within the so-called “De-escalation” zone since the beginning of 2023 has risen to 580, during 399 operations, and more than 257 military personnel and 202 citizens were injured in the aforementioned operations.
