DAA announces Eid al-Adha holiday

The Democratic Autonomous Administration has announced the Eid al-Adha holiday, declaring that all official departments and institutions affiliated with it will be closed from Thursday (June 5) until Monday (June 9), in parallel with the Internal Body implementing strict security measures.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region issued a circular on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, stating that all departments and institutions under its authority will be closed starting from Thursday (June 5) until Monday (June 9).

The circular, numbered /14/, clarified that the decision does not apply to entities whose nature of work requires continued service during the holiday period.

Special security measures during Eid al-Adha 

Coinciding with the holiday, the Internal Body and the General Command of the Internal Security Forces announced a set of security measures to ensure a stable and safe atmosphere, including the following:

- Banning the entry of large and medium-sized trucks and tankers into cities and towns from 18:00 on Thursday evening until midnight on Friday.

- Halting the movement of fuel tankers completely on the first day of Eid, in coordination with the Fuel Transport Administration to determine appropriate stopping locations.

- Closing border crossings to commercial trucks and vehicles from 18:00 on Thursday evening until 18:00 on Saturday evening, with exceptions for humanitarian and relief organizations, as well as medical and healthcare aid trucks.

- Passenger movement remains unchanged.

- Banning the use of both civilian and military motorcycles from 16:00 on Wednesday evening until the same time on Saturday evening.

- Prohibiting the firing of live ammunition and use of firearms during the Eid days.

- Tightening security at all checkpoints and security posts, and prohibiting large gatherings to preserve public safety.
