The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the NE Syria Region issued a written statement, published on Wednesday on the official website of the administration, regarding the agreement that took place between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus authority on March 10.

The text of the statement reads:

"The agreement signed between Mr. Ahmed Al-Shara and the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mr. Mazloum Abdi, is an important and historic agreement at a sensitive and difficult stage that Syria is going through after the fall of the Baath regime, and we emphasize that this agreement and its provisions are an affirmation that the only option is to resolve our issue through dialogue, and at the same time it expresses our permanent position and our preservation of the unity of the Syrian territory and its societal fabric, which is a positive and important step in reducing the gap between all Syrian parties, and it will be an important and inspiring incentive to enhance the spirit of participation in drawing and building the future of the new Syria, and to move away from the mentality of exclusion and tyranny suffered by all Syrians of all sects, and we will work as an autonomous administration for the NE Syria in a spirit of responsibility in leading the stage as we have always been.

Since the first day of the fall of the Baathist regime, we in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria have stressed the need for agreement between the various Syrian national forces, and seeking to launch a Syrian national dialogue that forms the basis for resolving the Syrian crisis and building a unified democratic Syria.

On this occasion, "We congratulate our people on this step, which is a victory for the entire Syrian people, and was a barrier against all those who try to undermine the victories achieved by our people through attempts to ignite strife and create a state of chaos, tension and dispersion among the components of the Syrian people. The former regime was also unable to break the historical relations between the peoples of the region, especially between the Kurdish and Arab peoples in 2004, as a result of which our people rose up against injustice and attempts to tear the Syrian fabric. We will spare no effort in protecting the unity of our peoples and our gains. On this occasion, we remember the martyrs of the 2004 Qamishlo uprising with pride and remain loyal to them.

We call on our resistance people, who are credited with the victories we have achieved and are achieving, that we are continuing our work to bring Syria in general, and NE Syria in particular, to safety, and to achieve the goals of our revolution in the unity and democratization of Syria, today's agreement is an important step to achieve your hopes and aspirations, and this agreement will achieve its goals and spread peace in the region.
