Crossings in Tabqa, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor closed for security reasons

In light of the escalating security risks associated with the crossings, and the Interim Government's unilateral closure decision, the General Administration of Crossings and Arrivals Security announced the closure of all crossings in the Tabqa, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor provinces until further notice, in order to preserve the safety of civilians, workers and travelers.

The General Directorate of Crossings and Arrivals Security in North and East Syria issued Circular No. 32 on Thursday, and it stated,

"In light of the serious security developments witnessed at the crossings, and based on the closure of the crossings by the Interim government in Damascus from its side, in addition to the accompanying escalation of security concerns and direct and serious repercussions for the safety of civilians, workers, and travelers using these crossings, the General Directorate of Crossings and Arrivals Security has decided the following:

First, the closure of all crossings in the Tabqa, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor cantons until further notice.

Second, the following are exempt from this closure:

Emergency humanitarian cases.

Accredited humanitarian organizations."
