The delegation from the Party of Equality and Peoples’ Democracy delivered a message from leader Abdullah Ocalan to Masoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), and gained insight into his perspective.

The Co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party, Keskin Bayındır, gave a brief statement to the press regarding the meeting with Barzani, saying:

"We conveyed the greetings and messages of Mr. Ocalan. There is an ongoing process in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, making it crucial to visit Barzani and understand his perspective. In turn, he expressed his support for a peaceful resolution. Our meetings will continue."

Following the meeting, the Imrali Delegation visited the Citadel of Hewlêr, after having met with Masoud Barzani earlier in the day in the Pîrmam region of Hewlêr Province.

The delegation was accompanied to the citadel by Hewlêr Governor Omed Xoshnaw, who provided them with an overview of its historical significance.

Barzani’s office released an official statement following the meeting with the delegation, which is visiting Southern Kurdistan as part of a broader political initiative.

According to the statement, discussions focused on political developments in Turkey and the need to strengthen the political process to achieve a peaceful resolution.

The delegation had already held a series of meetings with political leaders in Turkey, including direct discussions with leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali Prison, as part of their efforts to promote political dialogue.

At 10:00 AM, the delegation met with Masoud Barzani in Pîrmam, Hewlêr, for a 45-minute meeting. The delegation included prominent political figures such as Pervin Buldan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Keskin Bayındır, along with representatives from the Human Rights Office.

The statement from Barzani’s office emphasized that the delegation provided a detailed briefing on the political situation in Turkey and the outcomes of their meetings with leade Abdullah Ocalan. Additionally, it noted that the delegation delivered a message from the leader to Barzani regarding the ongoing political process.

Barzani welcomed the delegation and underscored the importance of strengthening the political process as the most viable path toward peaceful solutions. The statement stated: "The best way to achieve solutions is to advance the political process, and all parties must make efforts to ensure its success."

The Imrali Delegation is expected to hold further meetings in Southern Kurdistan, including discussions with Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, and Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), as part of the same initiative.
