Today, the Martyrs’ Families Council in the city of Dêrik organized a memorial ceremony for 146 martyrs from the Syrian Democratic Forces, the People’s Defense Forces, and the Internal Security Forces, who were martyred during the months of June, July, and August in various years.

The ceremony was held at the Dicle Center for Culture and Art in Dêrik, in the Jazira Canton of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, with wide participation from the martyrs’ families as well as members of civil and military institutions in the city.

The event began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs’ souls, followed by a sinevizyon presentation that included speeches by Leader Abdullah Ocalan about the role and sacrifices of the martyrs, alongside a commemoration of the “August 15 Uprising.”

In his speech, Muhammad Ali, a member of the Martyrs’ Families Council in Dêrik, emphasized the need to escalate the struggle throughout Kurdistan and to rally around the martyrs’ sacrifices. He affirmed that following in their footsteps is the path to achieving freedom and dignity for the Kurdish people.

Another sinevizyon was then presented, showcasing images of the 146 martyrs, in an atmosphere filled with pride and honor.

The ceremony concluded with slogans praising the martyrs and the chant: “Martyrs are alive; they do not die.”
