Clashes in Jaramana as Suwayda’s Military Council declares state of alert

Following violent clashes in the city of Jaramana, located in the Damascus countryside, which resulted in casualties and injuries, the Military Council in Suwayda has declared a state of full military alert. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the military to "prepare to defend the Druze community in Jaramana.

 At least one person was killed, and approximately nine others were wounded in Jaramana following armed confrontations between local residents and security forces affiliated with the Damascus government, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

 The city witnessed intense fighting between internal security forces and local armed groups in response to the killing of a security officer and the abduction of another.

 In light of these developments, the Military Council in Suwayda released a statement declaring:

"Given the rapidly escalating situation in Jaramana and our commitment to protecting the people, we are placing all our combat units on high alert, ready to intervene immediately if necessary."

 Simultaneously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to "prepare to defend Jaramana’s Druze population in the Damascus countryside."
