The cities of Homs and Latakia witnessed cases of kidnapping and disappearance of several people, including a child, in the past 24 hours, amid the ongoing security chaos and disorder in the areas controlled by the transitional government in Syria.

In detail, the 16-year-old girl Marah Muhannad Darwish was kidnaped on Monday at 2 PM in the al-Muhajirin neighborhood while she was heading to her grandfather's house near al-Widad Pharmacy. No information about her has been received yet, amidst her family's concern for her fate.

In Homs as well, the young woman Yasmin al-Amouri, from the Alawite community, along with her 3-year-old son Elia al-Hassan, has been missing since last Saturday, December 13th, while they were heading from her parents' house opposite the comprehensive clinics to her home in the Karam al-Louz neighborhood in Homs, a distance of no more than 500 meters.

As for the city of Latakia, contact has been lost with the young man Basel Nasr Saqour, 36 years old, since the morning of last Friday, December 12th, while he was working on his land in the village of Jabal al-Nuwiya in the Salanfah district of northern Latakia countryside. No information has been received about him yet, amidst a state of fear and anticipation from his family and relatives regarding his fate.

In the countryside of Latakia, contact was lost with the two young men, Ali Haitham Assaf, 20 years old, and Hadi Nizar Assaf, 17 years old, since last Saturday, December 13th, while they were working in the village of al-Muzayri'a distributing milk.

Sources close to the families of the two young men said that a message was sent from the phone of the young man Ali to his family, stating: "They took us to the security shield." Since then, there has been no information about them or their whereabouts and fate.

It is noted that all cases of disappearance and abduction witnessed in the cities of Homs and Latakia and their countryside are indeed against members of the Alawite sect. These cases coincide with the continuation of sectarian crimes against Syrian components and are accompanied by a state of security chaos and disorder.
