Bashir Malla Nawaf: Peace activists should support leader Ocalan's cause

Malla Nawaf stated that Abdullah Ocalan has been subjected to isolation for more than 25 years, describing it as a blatant violation of human rights according to United Nations principles and standards. He noted that human rights institutions have documented some of the most severe violations committed against Ocalan.

Turkey's Aim Behind the Isolation

Bashir Malla Nawaf explained that Ocalan's character represents a political and social movement that has transcended partisan boundaries. He said that Ocalan has become a thinker and philosopher whose ideas have influenced people around the world, noting that such historical figures are capable of resolving crises facing societies during difficult periods.

"In my opinion, Leader Abdullah Ocalan is capable of doing so," he said.

He added: "The Turkish state, which is the heir to the Ottoman Empire, is aware of this reality. Therefore, it imposed this isolation in order to leave the people without leadership and without politics. I believe that the Turkish state has kept the issue of the isolation imposed on the leader on the agenda for 25 years to occupy the people and public opinion and prevent them from thinking about other methods and alternatives."

Malla Nawaf pointed out that the Kurdistan Freedom Movement has worked throughout these years to achieve change and transformation in accordance with developments in global politics.

He added: "It has reached the conclusion that Leader Abdullah Ocalan understands these stages and has presented solutions and alternatives for the Kurdish issue and the crises of the Middle East." He emphasized that this vision is not welcomed by capitalist modernity and the nation-states of the region, particularly Turkey and Iran.

Peace and Democratic Integration as a Solution to Crises

Malla Nawaf stressed that the process of peace and democratic integration constitutes a solution to the crises currently facing the region. Therefore, intellectuals and freedom-loving people from all communities should focus on this point.

Concluding his remarks, Bashir Malla Nawaf said: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan is not struggling only for the Kurdish people, but for all components of society. It is the moral and humanitarian duty of everyone who struggles for peace, freedom, and dignity to support the leader."
