Assyrian Democratic Organization delegation visits department of external relations in Qamishlo

A delegation from the Assyrian Democratic Organization, led by Gabriel Moshe Kourieh and comprising Bashir Al-Saadi, Sarah Barsoum, Kabro Romanos, and Qeryaqos Kourieh, visited today the Department of External Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria at its official headquarters in the city of Qamishli.

The delegation was received by the Co-Chair of the Department of External Relations, Fener Al-Kaait, and his deputy, Gulistan Ali, in the presence of Dr. Abdul Karim Omar, Hikmat Al-Habib, and Rashad Hussein.

The meeting featured an exchange of views on the overall situation in Syria, with particular emphasis on recent developments in the Jazira canton. Participants also discussed the significance of the January 18–29 agreement signed between the Interim Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), underscoring the necessity of implementing its provisions given their pivotal role in consolidating security and stability in the region.

Both sides commended the responsible national stances demonstrated by the various components of the region, which have emphasized the importance of preserving civil peace and strengthening the values of coexistence among all communities. They further stressed the need to institutionalize the principle of decentralization in the administration of the region’s affairs and across Syria as a whole as a fundamental option for ensuring sustainable stability and achieving genuine national partnership among all components.
