Arrest of a leader of ISIS mercenaries in Deir-ez-Zor countryside

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement today announcing the arrest of a leader of ISIS mercenary cells in Deir-ez-Zor, which stated:

"As part of its ongoing military operations to pursue the remnants of the remaining cells of the terrorist organization "ISIS", the military operations teams (TOL) of our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, with the participation of the International Coalition forces, carried out a precise and special security operation, targeting the arrest of one of the leaders of the terrorist organization "ISIS".

The operation took place in the town of "Al-Busayrah", in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, after our forces completed collecting full security information about the movements of the terrorist called "Khaled Marbad Obaid", nicknamed "Abu Omar". Our forces were able to determine the terrorist's hiding place, so they imposed a tight cordon on him and arrested him.

The terrorist "Khaled" is the first person responsible for distributing weapons and ammunition to the cells of the terrorist organization "ISIS", which It carries out terrorist operations targeting our forces, security forces, and civilians.

Our forces confirm that, despite their preoccupation with repelling the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the areas of North and East Syria, they continue their security operations against the cells of the terrorist organization, and work day and night to dry up its material and moral sources, until it is eradicated from its roots.
