Today, the Armenian Union Party issued a statement to public opinion, stating: “The Armenian Union Party strongly condemns the shelling that targeted the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods and the Tishreen Dam axis, which resulted in casualties among unarmed civilians. These attacks constitute a crime against humanity and contradict all moral values and principles, as well as international laws that protect the lives of civilians.

The party stresses the necessity for the Damascus government to:

- Take the necessary measures to halt these attacks and prevent their recurrence.

- Work to build trust by recognizing all Syrian components and guaranteeing their legitimate rights within the framework of the unity and sovereignty of the state.

- Commit to an inclusive political process that places the interests of the Syrian people above all else.

The party also emphasizes that whenever Syrian parties come closer to reaching a political solution to the crisis, external interventions and agendas emerge seeking to obstruct this path, including attempts to undermine the March 10 agreement. The party believes that the continued bloodshed of Syrians serves external projects, foremost among them the Turkish agenda, which aims to achieve expansionist interests at the expense of Syria’s stability and the unity of its people.

The Armenian Union Party renews its call on all Syrian and international parties to support a comprehensive political process that preserves the country’s unity, safeguards the rights of all components, and puts an end to the suffering of the Syrian people away from external interventions.”
