Kohar Xecedûryan, the Co-Deputy President of the Armenian Consultation Office in North and East Syria, expressed concern over the practices of HTS in its-held areas.

In a statement to ANHA agency, Kohar Xecedûryan said: "The residents of this region, in all their diverse communities, are subjected to harassment by groups affiliated with the Interim Government."

She added: "They have altered the content of the educational curriculum, aiming to impose a monolithic identity on a Syria that is inherently diverse in its components and fabric."

Kohar Xecedûryan also criticized the portrayal of Christianity as merely a "culture," warning that such an approach could provoke significant divisions among the region's components. She stressed that "the Interim Government disregards the realities and identities of Syria's components, neglecting and marginalizing them."

The Co-Deputy President highlighted the demands of the Armenian people, stating: "Like other communities, we seek our national, religious, and cultural freedoms. We want the right to celebrate our national and religious holidays and to learn in our mother tongue."

She continued: "We also demand the protection of our religious symbols. In recent times, we have witnessed several acts of vandalism targeting these symbols, including the burning of Christmas trees and the desecration of Christian cemeteries."

Kohar Xecedûryan proposed implementing a system of Democratic Autonomous Administration based on a national democratic ethos and extending it throughout Syria, emphasizing that this proposal reflects the aspirations of the Armenian people.

She further explained: "Over the past ten years, we have been able to live freely in the regions of the Autonomous Administration, actively participating in cultural, political, economic, and religious life. Thus, we can confidently state that the Democratic Nation project represents the most suitable model for establishing a Syria built on equality among all peoples."
