ANHA camera captures aftermath of ISIS attack on checkpoint in Raqqa

ANHA agency monitored the aftermath of an attack by ISIS mercenary cells on the university checkpoint in the southern countryside of Raqqa city in NE Syria.

3 gunmen attacked a security checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces "the University Checkpoint" in the village of Al-Kasra, south of Raqqa city, which led to the martyrdom of two members of the Internal Security Forces and the injury of two others, including a civilian.

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces said in a statement: "In a cowardly terrorist act, 4 members of cells affiliated with the ISIS riding motorcycles, targeted the university checkpoint in the Al-Kasra area, south of Raqqa city."

ANHA agency obtained the names of the targeted members: Marwan Muhammad, who was shot in the eye and leg, which led to his immediate martyrdom; Muhammad Musa al-Hassan, who was shot in the head, which led to his martyrdom; and Ali Ramadan, who was shot in the stomach and leg.

The Security Department of the Checkpoints in Raqqa, Suzan Hassan, reported that work is underway to uncover the circumstances of this attack.
