Today, hundreds of residents from the city of Amuda and its villages in the Jazira Canton, North and East Syria took part in a massive march, demanding that Leader Abdullah Ocalan be granted “the right to hope” and achieve his physical freedom.

The march began at the Free Women’s Square in the eastern part of the city, heading toward Martyr Jihad Square in the city center. Participants carried pictures of Leader Ocalan and banners reading “Freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan… The Solution to the Kurdish Issue” and “Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s Freedom is the Freedom of All Peoples.”

During the march, participants chanted slogans calling for physical freedom of the leader, including “Freedom for the Leader of the Democratic Nation,” “Long Live Leader Apo,” and “No Life Without the Leader.”

Upon reaching Martyr Jihad Square, the participants observed a minute of silence. There, Kongra Star member Munour Khalid spoke, stating: “Some countries sought to annihilate the Kurdish people, but thanks to the history and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, those attempts were foiled.”

Munour Khalid explained that Leader Abdullah Ocalan resists in Imrali prison for the identity of the Kurdish people, the peoples of the region, and their history, saying: “We believe in our leader and our cause.”

Meanwhile, Amuda Martyrs’ Families Council member Abdul Baqi Dawi affirmed that Leader Abdullah Ocalan called for peace, unlike the occupying Turkish state, which takes no steps toward peace and insists on procrastination.

Abdul Baqi Dawi noted that the Kurdish liberation movement and the guerrilla forces responded to Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call issued on February 27, taking steps toward peace in accordance with his appeal.

He emphasized: “Keeping Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali will not achieve peace in the Middle East.”

He added: “We will remain in the squares and continue our resistance until the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is achieved, because the freedom of peoples lies in the physical freedom of the Leader.”
