Al-Wisal Organization launches awareness programs for IDPs returning to Serê Kaniyê

Al-Wisal Organization (Reacho) has begun implementing awareness programs targeting displaced people whose names were included in the first return convoy to the city of Serê Kaniyê. The programs aim to provide them with the necessary guidance and enhance safe return procedures, contributing to ensuring citizens’ safety throughout the return process.

With the aim of raising awareness among displaced people returning to Serê Kaniyê about potential risks they may face, particularly the explosive remnants of war that remain widespread in the city after years of it becoming a frontline area, Al-Wisal Organization (Reacho) has begun conducting awareness campaigns in shelters and camps in the Hasakah city.

In the first phase, the organization focused on families whose names were included in the first return convoys scheduled for next week. It confirmed that the awareness programs will continue to cover all displaced people in camps and shelters until the return operations are completed.

During small-scale awareness sessions held inside shelters, the organization used illustrative images and models to introduce suspicious objects and war remnants.

The organization warned returning displaced people against approaching or touching any unknown object due to the potential danger it poses to their lives. It also urged them to report any suspected remnants of war to the relevant authorities.
