Today, five trucks carrying food and medical supplies entered the city of Sweida — two trucks containing medical equipment and three others loaded with about 50 tons of food items.

No confirmed information has been released regarding whether the aid includes flour, as the city and its countryside have been suffering from a halt in public bakeries for the past two days due to the lack of flour, resulting in no bread distribution to residents.

The aid was provided by the International Medical Corps (IMC) to help meet the population’s needs following the violent events that took place in the region last July.

Forces of the Syrian Interim Government have imposed a tight blockade on Sweida and its countryside since July, while the limited humanitarian aid reaching the area does not meet even the minimum needs of the population.
