612 killed over clashes between Damascus forces and ISIS mercenaries

Two members of the "National Defense" of the Damascus forces and ISIS mercenary were killed, and 3 other members were injured as a result of the outbreak of armed clashes between the "National Defense" on the one hand, and ISIS mercenaries on the other hand in the Sukhna desert. Damascus forces brought in military reinforcements, amid deployment and alert by National Defense personnel in the clash area.

The death toll during military operations within the Syrian desert, according to the Syrian Observatory, has reached 612 since the beginning of 2023. They are:

46 ISIS mercenaries were killed in clashes with Damascus forces and Russian air strikes that targeted areas where they were hiding in various areas of the Homs desert, Suwayda, Hama, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Aleppo.

399 members of the Damascus forces and their affiliated armed groups were killed, 167 of whom were killed in an attack by ISIS mercenaries in various areas of the Syrian desert, carried out through ambushes, armed attacks and bombings in the west of the Euphrates and the desert of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Homs, Suwayda, Hama and Aleppo. 167 citizens, including a woman were killed in ISIS attacks in the desert.
